Our heritage

Sentrix is its own company, founded by people whose other businesses have delivered residential and domiciliary care across North Wales for more than twenty years. There is a significant difference between a technology company entering the care sector and a care organisation building technology. We are the latter.

Every capability has been selected and configured through direct experience of running night shifts and sitting through CQC and CIW inspections.

The challenge

At night, no one really knows. Through the small hours, carers walk the corridors and open doors, not because they have been called, but because checking is the only way to be sure. Those checks wake residents who were sleeping, and a resident who falls between rounds can lie waiting until the next one. Sentrix changes the question from “has everyone been checked?” to “who actually needs me now?”, directing care to where it is genuinely needed and giving the rest of that time back. The sensor

A single non-contact 60GHz millimetre-wave radar sensor sits in each resident bedroom and reads the state of the room in real time. Think radar, not camera: it senses presence and movement by reading how radio waves bounce back, so it never records images or sound. No camera, no microphone, no wearable, and no contact with the resident.

Capabilities

  • Non-contact sensing: reads presence and movement with no camera, microphone or wearable.
  • Real-time room states: knows whether a room is vacant, the resident is in bed, or out of bed.
  • Fall detection: an immediate alert to the duty carer’s handset.
  • Proactive night alerts: flags a high-risk resident who is out of bed at night, to help prevent a fall before it happens.
  • Person-centred configuration: alerts are tuned to each resident’s assessed falls risk and their own routine, so the system intervenes only where that person needs it.
  • Its own network: runs on Sentrix’s own low-power network, with no dependency on the care home’s WiFi.

How it works

  • Think: our own back-end interprets the signal into a clear room state.
  • Show: the state appears on one glanceable dashboard, and urgent events alert the carer’s handset.

The sensor hardware is deliberately simple. The intelligence that turns a raw signal into a room state a care team can trust is Sentrix’s own, and it is what sets the product apart.

Dignity first

Zero cameras and no microphones. The sensor reads presence and movement, never images or sound, so dignity is preserved even in the most private moments of the night. We do not collect what we do not need, and we do not record what does not belong to the person at the centre of the room.

Regulatory confidence

Every room state and every alert is timestamped and logged automatically, giving care teams an audit trail for CQC and CIW inspections without extra paperwork or retrospective note-writing. Because the system intervenes only where a resident’s assessed risk calls for it, it supports least restrictive practice, the language regulators use now. During the Haulfryn trial, three Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) were removed.

Implementation

Sentrix Assist fits into a home with minimal disruption. A single sensor is fitted in each resident bedroom, with no cameras, no microphones, and nothing the resident has to wear, charge or remember.
